This hike is located just outside Olema off Bear valley road. The parking lot is paved with plumbing bathroom facilities, picnic area, and some historical landmarks usually visited by elementary schools. There are many trails that branch off in the parking lot this particular trail is the bear valley trail because it follows bear valley creek. The trail is very wide, well kept, and often traveled, horses, pets, and bicycles are allowed on the trail. There are about five trails that branch off bear valley but just stick to the main trail and it will take you straight to bear rock, on the way back I took a detour that leads to Wildcat Camp (covered in a previous hike) this will be the western approach to the camp, while the previous hike was the eastern approach. These pictures were taken in early May.
(The above Statistics do not include the Wildcat detour which was about six mile round trip back to Bear Vally Trail)
